Three Trees 2007-2010
This series was done while maintaining my studio practice on West 11th Street in Greenwich Village, New York. A small space in the basement of a tenement building lent itself to plein air painting as I was eager to emerge anytime the weather permitted . During my time there I watched the Hudson River Park take shape along the water's edge including these these three Zelkova trees planted between the West Side Highway and the river. They were a constant source of inspiration in every season and all different times of day.
