Birdfeeder Bench
Food for thought.
The Birdfeeder Bench is located on the patio west of the Humanities Building. Sit and smell the flowers—while the birds eat them. Over 160 native and naturalized bird species have been recorded on the SUNY Purchase College campus. Common sightings include eastern bluebirds, tree swallows, and house wrens, but if you’re lucky, you may spot an American Kestrel! You can track bird sightings here.
What do birds eat?
The Birdfeeder Bench hosts several plants birds enjoy eating. A mix of blueberries, sunflowers, rudbeckia, and Virginia creeper will keep birds fed year round.
